Coastline Therapy Group is actively seeking a skilled Referral/Authorization Coordinator to become an integral part of our expanding team!

Coastline Therapy Group is a locally owned private practice. We offer an exceptional family-focused clinic environment for our patients and resources tailored for our team's success! Coastline therapists operate across our 4 clinics in Wilmington, Burgaw, and Leland, as well as in schools, daycares, and homes throughout New Hanover, Pender, Brunswick, and Onslow counties. This flexibility empowers our therapists to transition seamlessly between different age groups and settings, should they choose to do so

Coastline's clinics offer comprehensive services for individuals of all ages, spanning diverse settings. Our clinic boasts a sensory gym on the pediatric side, complete with swings, slides, a ball pit, a zip line, and a rock climbing wall. For adults, we feature a modern PT gym alongside an array of specialized equipment and private therapy rooms. Beyond our clinics, our therapists extend their expertise to local schools, daycares, and homes. Notably, Coastline stands out as one of the only clinics in the Wilmington area that serves clients across their entire lifespan, granting therapists the unique privilege of working with both adults and children.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in healthcare, referral coordination, or healthcare administration.
  • Familiarity with healthcare billing, insurance verification, and authorization processes.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
  • Proficiency in drafting referral documentation and communicating with referring physicians.
  • Proficiency in using healthcare management software and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
  • Knowledge of insurance verification tools and online authorization portals.
  • Efficiently manage incoming and outgoing patient referrals, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Verify insurance coverage, obtain necessary authorizations, and track referral status.
  • Coordinate appointments and follow-up care between patients and therapists.
  • Strong customer service skills to provide information and support to patients and referring healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to address patient questions and concerns regarding referrals and appointments.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, especially when handling sensitive patient information and referral documents.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and maintain patient privacy.
  • Collaborate with therapists, Marketing Director, administrative staff, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care and referral processes.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Basic data analysis skills to track referral trends and assess the efficiency of the referral process.
  • Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage a busy caseload of referrals.
  • Effective multitasking skills to manage marketing initiatives while supporting the Referral Coordinator's efforts.
  • Ability to work closely with the Marketing Director to align marketing efforts with referral coordination strategies.
  • Ability to conduct market research to identify potential referring healthcare providers and assess competitive landscapes.
  • Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management to maintain and nurture relationships with referring healthcare professionals.
